What is a spiritual oil / cologne?
A spiritual oil in simple terms can be described as a wearable spell.
It is a jar of oil and herbs that effectively carry the energy or intentions of a larger working.
A spiritual cologne / water is the same idea but with an alcohol base. Instead of dropping oil on your body or a candle, you can wear the spell as a perfume!
Having both a cologne and an oil gives the spell caster more range in regards to how they wish to apply the spell.
How are they made?
This part is a bit tricky because every Witch makes their products differently so I will only be talking about the way products here in the shop, The Mystic Ward, are made.
First, I gather my herbs that go along with the energy or intention I’m going to create.
Next, I raise energy by singing, dancing, invoking Spirits, or just being intentional with my thoughts while I'm working with the roots.
After the ingredients are changed, I place the herbs in a sanitized mason jar along with a carrier oil. I often choose Sunflower oil, and I let it sit on my altar for 28 days. During those days I visit my altar and add energy daily to the oils that are brewing. This process looks about the same as before, when I raise energy to awaken the herbs before they're used.
Depending on the oil and moon cycle, it may need to sit longer than that. Some oils may only be prepped on certain days of the year if capturing a special energy.
How would you use them?
The use of the oil is specific to the intention, so be sure to read the description all the way through before adding them to your ritual.
Unless stated otherwise on the bottle, the oil will be skin safe. So feel free to use on your full body or hit pressure points, collarbones, wrist, behind knees, and in between ankles.
You should also be sure to use them in your candle rituals. Anoint the tools, waters, yourself, before beginning. This will ensure that the energy created in the oil purchased is throughout any ritual you are performing for yourself or client.
I recommend you incorporate magic into your routines daily. Anoint your hair, clothes, and bags you carry before leaving home. Before bed, spray down your sheets with a Cleansing Cologne and apply a nice Sleep Balm to your body to encourage a restful night's sleep.
The more deeply embedded magic is in your life, the better. Do not wait for special occasions to use magic, each day is perfect to create harmony and peace. Give it to yourself.
In conclusion, having a few magical oils on hand is the secret to creating a life of comfort and ease. They can be seen as shortcuts to getting what you want or need without having to perform an entire ritual with the candles, invocation of Spirits, herbs and specific astrological timing. Spell oils are a way to influence the energies around you subtly, but also gets you noticed by the Divine herself!
Happy casting and remember to own your power!
